Spruce Permaculture is looking for landscapers to join our team this season! Landscapers will work with us on the ground to implement designs on clients’ properties. Spruce team members are part of the decision-making process; your knowledge, skills and experience are crucial. As a team we share food, passion and knowledge. We must be the change we wish to see in the world!


Position: Landscaper

Edmonton, Alberta

Position duration: Irregular shift work, June to September

Wage: Hourly $15

The Candidate, The Work:

You thrive in the outdoors, working with your hands and the soil. You have an understanding of and passion for Permaculture and regenerative design. You have knowledge of gardening and edible and native plants. You are an active and ongoing learner.

As a team member you’ll do a lot of heavy lifting, digging and hauling. You will read and understand landscaping plans and implement them with an attention to detail and beauty. You will be encouraged to get involved in other Spruce activities like hydroponic gardening, composting, plant care and educational and community-building sessions. You will be asked to work shifts with varying frequency and length, so a flexible schedule is necessary.


The ideal candidate will have:

-Some experience in landscaping (gardening will be considered)

-An understanding of Permaculture and regenerative agriculture

-Ability to read, understand and execute landscape designs with little supervision

-Some experience with carpentry and basic construction (raised beds, flower boxes, support structures)

-Ability to lift and carry heavy weight (up to 50lbs)

-Knowledge of effective and safe use of hand tools

-Experience working with heavy equipment (trailers, bobcats, tractors)

-A class five licence and a truck
